The importance of having an air purifier with a HEPA filter

Of all the technologies, air filtration using HEPA filters (High Efficiency Particulate) is one of the most effective. A HEPA filter is made up of a mesh of glass fibers (0.5 to 2.0 microns) that trap airborne particles, including infected ones, creating spaces free of bacteria, viruses, dust and other allergens in suspension.

How does the HEPA air filter work?

It captures pollutants by forming a single body out of a network of fibers that are placed at random. The filtering process can take four different forms, depending on the particle size: direct or inertial impact, diffusion, interception, and sieving.

Inertial impact and sieving are used to capture larger pollutants. The particles either collide with the fibers and become stuck, or try to pass through the fibers and become trapped.

The fibers catch the medium-sized particles as they pass through the filter by interception.

As the tiniest particles travel through the filter, they evaporate and ultimately collide with a fibre and become trapped in the fibers.

What do we do from Active Disinfection to ensure air purification?

At Active Disinfection we are specialists in guaranteeing safe spaces. Our solutions in high-efficiency filtration equipment are adapted to the needs of places such as meeting rooms, laboratories or common spaces, among others.
