Gel nails are artificial fingernails that are modeled using special gel nails. This nail gel is a special form of nail polish. It consists of the acrylic compound acrylate. But don’t let this name mislead you.

Gel nails are not acrylic nails! Professional nail salons use different systems to create these artificial nails. They consist of a single gel or multiple gels that must be cured with UV light before further processing. The finished artificial nails cannot flake or splinter and do not need to be repainted.

You can do all kinds of work with them because the paint won’t come off on its own. But please be careful not to accidentally rip it off. Because then your natural nail will be damaged.

How Are Gel Nails Made?

After washing your hands thoroughly, pushing back the cuticles, and roughening and degreasing the nail surface with a dehydrator containing acetone, the gel for nails is applied to the real fingernail like normal nail polish.

In contrast to this, no streaks form: the gel for nails smoothes itself out, leaving an even surface. For systems with more than one layer, each layer is cured separately with a special nail lamp. After the primer, the nail designer applies the builder gel, and after it has hardened the sealer.

An LED lamp takes 30 to 60 seconds to cure, and a UV light for two to three minutes. The heat released in the process can be uncomfortable for some women. Sometimes the gel nails are then polished to a shine or matted by using the best gel nail polish

If there is still a sticky layer on them, it is removed using a special cleaner. The gel for nails lasts about three to four weeks before you need to refill it.
